Turrón de Alicante, also known as turrón duro, is a traditional sweet treat from the province of Alicante in Spain. It’s typically consumed during the Christmas season.
The main ingredients of Turrón de Alicante are lightly toasted whole almonds and honey. The recipe also includes sugar, egg whites, and icing sugar. The almonds must make up at least 46% of the weight, but our Turron de Alicante has a 60% of almond, which is known as calidad suprema (supreme quality) and has the DOP Jijona.
